TREASURER PROPERTY TAXES

When & Where to Pay Your Taxes

  • Winter taxes are due February 14, 2024, by 5:00 pm in the office at the Sodus Township Hall, INCLUDING Drop Box.

  • Winter taxes are collected at the Township Hall from December 1, 2023, through February 28th, 2024, at 5:00 pm. Beginning March 1, 2024, all tax payments must be made to the Berrien County Treasurer. Penalties and interest will apply.

THREE DELIVERY PAYMENT OPTIONS

       Make checks payable to: Sodus Township Treasurer

  • Mail to: Sodus Township Treasurer, PO Box 176 Sodus, MI 49126

  • Drop Box: On-premise at the south entrance door; Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • In-person: Payments, check or cash are Fridays only from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm during tax season.     NO CREDIT CARDS

 

PLEASE NOTE​

  • Starting December 1, 2023, through February 28, 2024 (Excluding December 25, 2023 and January 1, 2024)

  • Extended in-person payment hours on February 28, 2024, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

  • If you prefer to pay in person or are unable to pay on a Friday, schedule an appointment with Terry McCain, Treasurer, at (269) 944-9038 or via email at treasurer@sodustwp.org.

RECEIPT INFORMATION

  • If you would like a "PAID" stamp, please send or bring in your entire tax bill when paying your taxes.

  • If payment is mailed or dropped off, please provide a self-addressed stamped envelope, so a  receipt may be mailed to you.

PARTIAL PAYMENTS

  • You can make partial payments during the collection period.  No prior arrangement is needed.

  • You may pay any amount as often as you like.  Balance is due in full by tax due date to avoid penalties.

  • Winter Tax due date, February 14, 2024, 5:00 pm.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • ​If an escrow account pays your taxes from your mortgage company, your tax notice will be mailed directly to the mortgage company. You will receive a duplicate copy with an “Information Purposes” message on your stub.

  • Please contact your mortgage company for its policies and procedures if you receive a regular bill.

  • For the previous year's delinquent bills: please call the Berrien County Treasurer at 983-7111 ext. 8569 for the payoff amount, including the most current interest and penalties. Remit payment to Berrien County Treasurer, Berrien County Admin. Bldg. 701 Main Street, St. Joseph, MI 49085
