ELECTIONS UPCOMING ELECTIONS: Tuesday, May 5, 2026 will be a Special Election. More information to follow Early Voting Location: No Early Voting for Special Election Precinct Location: Sodus Township Hall 4056 King Drive Sodus, Michigan 49126 Election Information: The general election in Michigan is an election in which at least two opposite parties that typically involve in competition between candidates are elected to offices. This is in contrast to the primary election, which is used either to narrow the field of candidates for a given elective office or to determine the nominees for political parties in advance of a general election. Generally, candidates for a general election are chosen via a primary election, held the first Tuesday in August. Voters may choose from any party during the general election and select the candidate of their choosing, without spoiling their ballot. In other words, crossing party lines will not create an error on the ballot. Research the candidates and GO VOTE!! If you are on the Permanent Ballot List to receive an absent voter ballot in the mail, we normally expect to mail them the first week of October. If you will be out of town during the month of September-first Tuesday in November and would like your Absentee Ballot mailed to a different address , please contact the township clerk (269) 926-6285 #2 or deputy clerk at (269) 926-6285 #7.
